Jain Samaj of Long Island

Jain Samaj of Long Island Inc. is a not-for-profit organization formed in 2007 to accommodate the social and religious needs of approximately 200 Jain Families in and around Hicksville, NY. The organization was formed by Shri Kanubhai Lakhani, Late Shri Bhailalbhai Shah, Shri Jayesh Shah, Smt Kalpana Vaidya, and Smt Sweeta Khona. The small and dedicated group of the established volunteer committee helped them celebrate their first Paryushan in 2007 under the guidance of Shri Pravinbhai Shah.

The organization was started on one simple yet unique idea: a day of sporting clay shooting to raise money for worthwhile charities. SFC continues to grow this fund raising effort each year. Within six months after the close of fundraising each year, the money raised by Cycle for Survival riders and donors goes directly to MSK doctors and scientists, fueling bold ideas and breakthroughs.

Semper Fi & America’s Fund is dedicated to caring for and providing immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to our nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families. They operate their programs and services through a “needs-based” approach by which staff and volunteers work one-on-one with service members, veterans, and military families–providing ongoing support for as long as legitimate needs require.

RAINN

RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

North Shore Animal League America

As the leader in the no-kill movement, North Shore Animal League America is committed to saving and rehabilitating the lives of homeless animals and educating the public about the joys and responsibilities of rescue. Founded in 1944, they are one of the world’s largest, most comprehensive no-kill rescue and adoption organizations. They are headquartered in Port Washington, N.Y. with 2,000 shelter partners across the country and around the globe.

Direct Relief

Direct Relief is a non-profit organization that improves the health and lives of people affected by poverty, disaster, and conflict around the world. Their donation policy ensures that 100 percent of all designated contributions for specific programs or emergency responses are used only on expenses related to supporting that program or response. Direct Relief has not and will not collect money for what may appear to be a specific incident or purpose with the intention of using it for other purposes.

Operation Underground Railroad

OUR is a nonprofit organization involved in the rescue of human trafficking and sex trafficking victims, with a special focus on children, and a wider goal of eliminating sex trafficking world-wide. They work closely with law enforcement agencies and governments to rescue victims and bring traffickers to justice. They also provide aftercare to survivors, which includes medical care, counseling, education, and vocational training. OUR's mission is to not only rescue victims but also to provide them with the tools they need to build a new life.

Cancer Foundation

The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding and developing novel research and clinical trials to find less toxic, more effective treatments for childhood cancer. Their purpose is to reduce the side effects of current treatments, improve survival rates, and ultimately eliminate childhood cancer. The NPCF has received a perfect 100% score for financial health and transparency and is the top-rated childhood cancer charity in the United States by Charity Navigator.

Tunnel to Towers Foundation

Born from the tragedy of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries out its mission to "do good," by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in New York City, which retraces the final footsteps of Firefighter Stephen Siller on the morning of September 11, 2001, has grown tremendously since 2002 with more than 5,000 participants.
